Outside of using Twitter for Blogging, another great tool that I find is never used inside of WordPress for Realtors is the QuickPress tool.

What is PressThis?

It’s a tool that allows you to grab a bit of text or other content from another site, and use it as inspiration and contextual background to start your blog post.  Being a Realtor, luckily you have a TON of great resources to get information from.  Consider Realtor.org or another site put out by NAR – HouseLogic.com

Here’s a video on the topic – the text description is below:

Setting Up PressThis

First, you have to find your customized PressThis

In WordPress, Hover over the Tools Panel and click on Available Tools.

You should see a page that looks like this:

QuickPress - WordPress

Now – this is a little odd so read carefully.  Put your mouse over the PressThis button and drag it to your bookmarks bar of your web browser.  Once you do that, you should see it say Press This.

Clipping Something With PressThis

So let’s say for example that you want to write a blog post about tax tips for homeowners.  Find an article you want to quote.  Highlight the specific text you’d like to quote from the document with your mouse (keep in mind that for proper SEO you’ll need to write at least 3-4x as much content as the amount you highlight).  After the text is highlighted, click your PressThis button in your bookmarks bar.

Wait just a second and you should see a new window open.  If you’re not logged in, it will ask you to login and then you should see something like the following:

Using PressThis

You’ll notice that it automatically cited the source for you.  Just finish writing your post and publish it.  You’ll find that blogging becomes a lot easier when you can use inspiration from other sources and simply provide your commentary.

Just set this up and is very easy to use. When you “Press This” automatically goes to your dashboard in a new post format. Really great info, Thanks Eric

Not a very well known tool but it is very useful when browsing the net and finding something you’d like to comment on on your blog about. Plus your guide is easy to follow.
